The Goddess Brigid

This is like my goddess card !

The Goddess Brigid is a fire Goddess, She is often celebrated at Imbolc on the 1st Feb This is when the goddess wakes up a maiden after her winter rest. I make Brigids crosses that are hung all around my house to bring her protection into my home.

I have dedicated my half alter to her as the goddess of fire and inspiration and change. She has a warm personality and a motherly aspect. She is known as a tripple goddess and is originaly from Ireland. The daughter of Dagda. ( who has the couldron that feeds all and is never empty) She fills my house with warmth and inspiration all year round. She is also a goddess of healing and purification.

Brigids was so loved by the Irish people that the church sainted her and her place of pilgrimage still exists in Kildeare it was turned into an Abby where the nuns keep a candle burning eternaly in her honour. This is a place where I would love to go and visit.

The continuation of the goddess
