Using crystals
From Pagan Pregnancy
As promised I am blogging to talk about some of the things that I am using from my reviewed book. This bit is about the crystals that I am going to use during pregnancy if anyone has any other ideas they are welcome.
Arin suggests four different crystals in her book an I decided to use all of them as they have different qualities and I will use them in different ways. The four crystals are MoonStone, Carnelion, Malachite and Bloodstone.
MoonStone
I must admit that this is one of my most used stones as I find it a peacefull and gentle soothing energy and that complements my own quite well. It is said that the colour of this stone looks like moon light which more than anything else for me gives it the gentle energy that I personally associate with it. It is also conected to night time and dreaming this I knew making it a choise stone to go under my pillow as it stands. Arin also suggests that it is also linked to love, motherhood and children. She goes on to explain how its loving and dreamy energies can help conecting with your unborn child. It is thought to enhance intuition also making it good for working with during ritual and everyday life.
I have put this little stone under my pillow after cleansing and charging it with the intention of it helping to stabolise my eratic dreaming which I have suffered from since becoming pregnant and help in sending my love to my child, I have found it soothing to talk to my baby before I go to sleep so hopefully this will help me send loveing nurturing energy to my child.

Malachite
Although I have a pice of this stone I have never used it before, so I will keep a note on my progress with this one. Arin puts in her book that it is associated with fertility, abundance and the earth I think that this is because of its attractive deep flecked green colour. It is also said that it can warn of inpending danger (useful therefore in protection) I have found it usefull for providing extra energy when I am lacking a little but it is also said to relax physical tension and calm emotions encourage patience and restore harmony in the physical environment in which it is placed. Arin also suggests that it is usefull after the birth and can be used to protect infants and children so after my pregnancy I may well recharge this stone and buy some for the nursery :) I have put this stone on my pregnancy shrine and I am thinking that this is the stone that I may well pack into my little portable altar to take to hospital for the birth.

Bloodstone.
I have used this stone before to help with my blood circulation, I always seem to hae cold feet but not since becoming pregnant. I have always liked its green and red patterning. It is said that it promotes courage and healing in general also to protect and strengthen the blood system. Arin suggests that it can be used to help protect against miscarriage and aids good development in the foetus. She also goes on to explain that it can be used to give insight with reguards to change. I think that might be useful as pregnancy is a very big change. This stone I will is on my Altar next to my shell to represent my unborn baby . If I can find another use for it then I might well use it for more.

Carnelian.
I quite often use this stone to help with my periods of depression, but it is also associated with confidence, decisions and said to defend one against anger, sorrow and depression. It is a healing stone and is often found in jewelry I have a bracelet of it. It can lend its energy to help with healing. I think that this is going to be packed in my hospital bag as I think that it will be most usefull to me during and after the birth of baby.
